• Roads walked (browser localStorage, portal:v1:seen:…) — remembers which of the paths you have explored, so the banyan knows when every road has known your footsteps. Kept until you clear your browser data. It never leaves your device and is never sent to us.
• This visit’s steps (browser sessionStorage) — the fork’s short-term memory within a single visit. Gone when the tab closes.

Both are functional storage only — the journey works without them; you would simply be asked to walk the roads again.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

• _ga — distinguishes one visitor from another in aggregate statistics. Kept up to 2 years.
• _ga_B7GHML6W88 — remembers the current visit (session) for the same statistics. Kept up to 2 years.

Analytics (HubSpot)

• __hstc— HubSpot’s main analytics cookie: recognises a returning visitor and remembers when the visits happened. Kept up to 6 months.
• hubspotutk — a visitor token. If you send a letter through the contact form, it lets HubSpot connect your visits to your enquiry, so Akram can answer you in context. Kept up to 6 months.
• __hssc — remembers the current visit (session) for the same statistics. Gone after thirty minutes of quiet.

YouTube, on the Music page

The Music page embeds Akram’s songs in YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Nothing from YouTube loads until you reach the moonlit screen; once you play a song, YouTube may store data on your device under Google’s privacy policy.

Your control

To remove what is stored, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings — the journey simply starts fresh. To decline analytics (Google’s and HubSpot’s alike), block cookies for this site in your browser; for Google Analytics there is also Google’s opt-out browser add-on; the journey works exactly the same without it.
