About Akram

Born in India. An eye found in the light of Paris.

From a first year of photographs there — Visages de la France, 2010 — the road kept unfolding: the forests and coasts of Europe, the far light of New Zealand and Iceland, and, at last, a home among the maples of Canada.

I have always chased one thing — the way light moves through a place until it feels like memory. The long way home taught me to see it.

And on clear nights, I still look up. The wonder that pulls me toward a distant star is the one I hope you felt, drifting through these images.

As featured in The Hindu.

Thank you for travelling with me.
